Research on the Characteristics of Operating Nonuniformity of High-pressure Common Rail Diesel Engine Based on Crankshaft Segment Signal

In order to better achieve efficient and low-pollution combustion of high-pressure common rail diesel engine, the study of operating uniformity of high-pressure common rail diesel engine based on crankshaft segment signal is proposed. The experiments were conducted on a YN30CR high-pressure common rail diesel engine as an example. Based on the relationship between cylinder pressure, crankshaft instantaneous angular velocity and crankshaft segment signal, it was demonstrated that the crankshaft segments signal could be used to characterize the operating nonuniformity of the diesel engine. Based on the fast Fourier transformation from the angular domain and frequency domain to analyzed the change of crankshaft segment signal fluctuation law under different working conditions, and extracted the nonuniformity information of each cylinder. In order to further reveal the relationship between the fluctuation phenomenon of crankshaft segment signal and the cause of its fluctuation, the total torque acting on the crankshaft of a multi-cylinder diesel engine is studied in relation to the crankshaft segment signal, with a view to rationalizing the quantification of diesel engine operating nonuniformity. The results show that: the crankshaft segment signal curves in phase and amplitude can well reflect the uniformity of diesel engine work in each cylinder; the degree of nonuniformity of engine work can be reflected by the amplitude of low-order non-dominant harmonics of the crankshaft segment signal below the firing frequency; the crankshaft segment signal has a high consistency with the total torque variation pattern.
